New information about one of my favorite episodes!
I know this particular post isn’t something I usually post about; however, it still has to do with something I enjoy. For a long time now, I have been addicted to American Greed, which is a program about financial fraud. The show has about 15 seasons and over 241 episodes
One of the episodes from the final season, before they went on what they considered a hiatus of sorts, was called Blessing I No Time. It chronicles the journey of LaShonda and Marlon Moore and whether they created a pyramid scheme nicknamed BINT. They classified the company as a way for other African Americans, including themselves, to help each other financially through the Coronavirus pandemic. In a matter of months, however, it quickly started to appear as the scam that it was.
Every so often, even though there haven’t been any new episodes since 2023, I have taken the time to look up recent updates on the companies and people profiled in old episodes. I recently looked up the Morris after watching the episode again, and I found out some new information that the FBI put out about the couple. It appears that they have been charged and convicted of crimes related to the fraud that was their company, and they will be sentenced on June 9th, 2026. I will be including the link below so you can verify the information for yourself. I will make sure that once they post another memo related to the sentence and how long it will be, I will make sure to add an edit to this post letting you all know how long it turned out to be. While you may not be a fan of American Greed like me, at the same time, at least you’re learning a little something new about me.
Edit June 16th 2026 – According to Justice.gov and CBS news, both Lashonda and Marlon Moore have been sentenced to 40 years in prison for the fraud they committed called Blessings In No Time. The judge chose such a hefty sentence because of the fact that the Moores did this during a time when everyone was struggling financially due to the pandemic. Quite a few folks donated one or both of their support payments into bent, hoping to get the 800% return they had been promised.
